The Operations Mentoring Award – new in 2024 – honors up to three outstanding mentors and up to three outstanding mentees each year from amongst the participants in the Ops Mentoring program. The purpose of the award is to recognize the time, effort, and growth of those who participate in the program, and to support a shared understanding of what constitutes excellence in mentorship/menteeship in the Ops Area.
The nominee and nominator must be participants in the Operations ("Ops") Mentoring Program during the current year.
There is no limit to how many individuals can be nominated.
The complete application will include:
The nominator’s and nominee’s names
A brief narrative (one or two paragraphs) describing:

If nominating a mentee: How the mentee demonstrated commendable growth in any of Berkeley Lab's stewardship values (team science, service, trust, innovation, and respect) and/or core competencies (e.g. communication, partnership-building, financial management, strategic decision-making).
